Our Team

Before launching Abbey Sales and Lettings in 2012, Robert worked across Suffolk and Essex for well-known independent, and national estate agencies. With twenty years of agency experience; thirteen as Owner of Abbey, Robert now concentrates much of his time on the strategic and growth goals of the business as well as supporting the Senior Leadership team and assisting with key clients and investors. Outside of work Robert plays tennis and the drums, and enjoys cooking and spending time with friends and his young family.

George started with Shires at 14 on work experience before joining formally, working on Saturdays and has never really left. Having been promoted to Operations Director in 2022 and more recently Managing Director in 2024, he is at the forefront of our business and strives to push us forwards, whilst ensuring we deliver exceptional service and results to our clients.

Outside of work George enjoys Skiing, Apres Ski, Socialising with friends and DIY.

Callie has been with the team since January 2018 and has stepped into the Senior role of Operations. In this capacity, Callie oversees the operational aspects of the business, working closely with her team to ensure smooth processes and efficient workflow.

Before joining us, Callie gained experience in various roles. She worked at Center Parcs as an Elf during the Christmas season and later as an Activities Assistant, where she organized activities for children and adults. She also has experience as a waitress in a restaurant.

Outside of work, Callie loves going on holidays and short breaks, spending time with friends and family, and going out for food and drink.

Phillippa is our Head of Tenancy Management, where she oversees the Tenancy Management department, focusing on property compliance, maintenance, and facilitating day-to-day landlord and tenant communications.

Phillippa initially joined Shires in 2007 as an Office Administrator, demonstrating dedication and skill as she climbed the career ladder to attain her current leadership role.

Before her tenure at Shires, Phillippa began her career with roles in hospitality, starting as a waitress at Bury Golf Club before transitioning to Baileys cafe, where she honed her skills in both front-of-house and kitchen operations.

Her entry into the real estate sector started as a Sales Negotiator at an Independent agents in Bury St Edmunds. Over time, Phillippa gravitated towards the rental sector, laying the groundwork for her eventual role at Shires.

Outside of work, Phillippa finds joy in spending quality time with her family and friends. An active individual, she enjoys playing netball and occasional gym sessions. However, her true relaxation comes from indulging in a glass or two of wine over the weekends!

As our Regional Head of Sales, April brings valuable experience from her previous role with a leading local corporate agency. April’s role as part of the leadership team is to support each of our offices perform to the best of its ability, so we are the best estate agents that we can be, to the benefit of our clients. That can be delivering training, rolling out changes or marketing promotions and making sure everything is running like clockwork and our service to our clients remains excellent.

April also has huge experience in Land and New Homes and working with Large Investors and so alongside Robert and George, is a main point of contact for our developer and investor clients.

Outside of work April enjoys paddleboarding, spontaneous city breaks and hosting dinner parties with friends.

Will is our Head of Finance, joining us after more than a 25 year career in the financial services, strategy consulting, and leisure/ hospitality sectors. He has worked with companies large and small and brings a wide range of experience to the team. He is especially excited about helping Shires to achieve it’s growth ambitions.

In Will’s spare time, he loves spending time with his family, hiking in the great outdoors, fly fishing, good wine, music, sci-fi and of course his beloved Leicester City FC.

Karen brings a huge wealth of experience and knowledge from her 30+ years within the company, and this has given her the skills to be able to pass on to her team, as Branch Manager of the Bury St Edmunds office.

Karen has always lived locally, so she is a fantastic person for a local knowledge– she also loves to talk, so would be happy to pass on any tips or recommendations!

Karen loves live music, shopping and spending time with her friends. For peace and quite she heads to the beach or into the countryside with her Labrador Mabel.

Maia joined the team in 2024 as Branch Manager.

Prior to this Maia learnt her trade working at a national Estate Agency, which has given her the foundation to hit the ground running in her role.

Maia thrives on the excitement of helping individuals find their dream homes. She embraces new challenges, tailoring solutions to meet the unique circumstances of each client. Whether it’s guiding first-time buyers through the process or assisting seasoned investors in expanding their portfolios.

Outside of work Maia keeps active, competing in show-jumping and regularly attending the gym. Additionally, Maia loves to travel and explore new holiday destinations.

Elliot has recently been promoted to Branch manager in Halstead, after previously being a Branch Valuer in Haverhill.  bringing with him over five years of experience in the property industry. He has worked across both sales and lettings throughout Essex and Suffolk, gaining a strong understanding of the local markets and a well-rounded view of the industry.

Elliot thrives on helping buyers find their dream home and supporting vendors in achieving successful sales.

Outside of work, he enjoys playing darts and spending time with his dog.

Lottie joined the business in 2025 as Branch Manager in Haverhill. With a wealth of experience gained from her career in corporate and independent estate agency, she brings invaluable knowledge of the Cambridgeshire and Suffolk property markets. As an experienced negotiator and valuer, Lottie has a real talent for securing the best outcomes for her clients and loves playing matchmaker — pairing buyers with their perfect homes.

Outside of work, she enjoys spending quality time with family and friends, whether it’s a day at the races or hosting a lively dinner party. Her enthusiasm, expertise, and personal touch make her a fantastic addition to our team.

Ciara joined the team as Branch Manager of our Stowmarket branch in 2026, bringing with her four years of experience in national corporate estate agency, as well as two years selling property overseas.

Having grown up in Stowmarket, she is proud to be working in the town she has always called home. Ciara is passionate about helping local buyers and sellers, building lasting relationships, and becoming an active part of the community.

Outside of work, you’ll usually find Ciara planning her next holiday or enjoying good food and drinks with friends and family.

Katherine has lived in Thetford her whole life and bought her first home back in 2013 — that’s when her interest in property really began. She joined the team in 2014 and hasn’t looked back since! After working her way up through the company, she became Branch Manager in 2025.

She’s passionate about all things property and is known for giving honest advice and great customer service. Whether you’re buying, selling or just need some guidance, Katherine’s always happy to help.

When she’s not at work, you’ll find her spending time with her partner, daughter, and their two golden retrievers — or catching up with friends.

Joe joined the team in 2026 as Branch Manager, bringing with him a wealth of experience from working with national corporate agencies, where he successfully managed busy market-town offices.

Now based at the Brandon branch, Joe is passionate about helping vendors achieve the best possible price for their property while supporting buyers in finding their dream home. A natural problem solver, Joe takes pride in finding solutions to complex deals and tackling challenges head-on, whether that be tricky personal situations, portfolio disposal, new homes developments, with a determination to ensure every transaction runs as smoothly as possible.

Outside of work, Joe enjoys spending time with his family, exploring the great outdoors on hikes, keeping fit at the gym, and enjoying good food at a local village pub

Ethan joined the team in 2026, bringing a diverse background in retail and various construction trades. With a long-standing interest in property, he’s excited to take on this new challenge and connect with clients to make the process smoother and less stressful.

Outside of work, Ethan stays active by going to the gym. He also enjoys attending music events and concerts, trying out new food spots, and is a big supporter of Liverpool FC.

Fun fact: Ethan also has an amateur acting “diploma” from an acting club he attended when he was younger!

Ben joined Shires after gaining valuable experience with a corporate estate agency, where he worked across a variety of property markets throughout Norfolk, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire. His broad knowledge of the region and commitment to delivering excellent customer service enable him to support clients with confidence throughout their property journey.

Outside of work, Ben is a passionate Ipswich Town supporter and enjoys both playing and watching football. He also likes running and spending time socialising with family and friends.

Anne-Marie has recently joined the company as a Branch Valuer in Thetford. Anne has years of experience within new homes and sales. Anne has a strong ability to manage budgets and communicate effectively- always aiming to deliver exceptional value and service.

Outside of work, Anne- Marie likes to cook harty irish meals and binge watching dramas whilst spending time with her Husband.

Billy joined the Company in August 2022 straight after leaving College. He initially carried out inventories and inspections but his strong people skills, and drive to progress, soon saw him move through the ranks to become a lettings valuer.. In his spare time Billy enjoys spending time with friends and family and loves a trip to the pub to watch football over a pint. When not watching football, Billy is playing it, competing in a local 5-a side league.

Michelle is our Lettings Progressor, and focuses on ensuring a smooth transition for tenants and landlords during the move-in process. Since joining the company in April 2018, Michelle has been dedicated to providing excellent service and keeping clients informed at every stage.

With previous experience in front-of-house hospitality, Michelle brings a friendly and approachable demeanour to her role.

Outside of work, Michelle enjoys spending time outdoors, going on walks with her dogs, and also spending time with her friends and family,… Find her at her happiest though when she is out shopping!

A fun fact about Michelle is that she is fluent in 3 different languages!

Arnis is thrilled to be joining the ambitious and fast-growing team at Shires after spending the last few years travelling.

His previous roles as an online assistant and general manager within the holiday industry gave him valuable experience working with people, solving problems, and delivering great service. Arnis is excited to bring those skills into the world of lettings, learn from the team, and make his mark in the industry.

Outside of work, Arnis enjoys being active and is always up for a challenge — especially when it comes to padel.

Lyndsey is an experienced sales associate with a background in independent estate agency. She values building genuine relationships and providing a personal, caring service to clients throughout the sales process. Lyndsey’s friendly nature makes her a favourite with both buyers and vendors, and she’s the perfect person to help you sell your home.

Outside of work, Lyndsey loves spending time with her husband and their little girl Maeve.

Guy started with the company in 2024, having made the switch from matching people to jobs, with people to houses. Guy has always lived locally bar a period at University and is enjoying the Property Industry and building relationships with our clients.

Outside of work Guy is often found in the Gym or Skiing, but also has a keen interest in cinema and standup comedy.

Maya joined the team in 2025, and has previous experience in hospitality and retail. Her previous roles helped her develop strong communication skills with people of all ages and backgrounds. She is always happy to offer support or a friendly chat and looks forward to helping people find their dream home while delivering great service.

Outside of work, Maya enjoys travelling and spending time with family and friends, whether that’s a games night or a full day of shopping.

Valeria has experience in construction and maintenance, as well as working as a home insurance broker, alongside a strong background in hospitality. These roles have shaped her into an adaptable, hands-on communicator who thrives in fast-paced environments. She enjoys staying busy, working with people, and taking pride in doing things well.

Outside of work, Valeria is a cat mum to Snoops and enjoys the gym, socialising, long walks, cooking, and spending time in the sun.

Rachel moved down to Norfolk from Manchester 4 years ago. Rachel has worked within a variety of industries including TV casting, retail, recruitment and sales.

Outside of work, you will usually find Rachel on a day trip with her partner or at home with her 2 tabby cats!

Jasmin brings valuable experience from her previous role as an office coordinator, alongside a background in HMO management. This has given her a strong foundation in organisation, communication, and an understanding of property-related processes.

She is particularly drawn to the variety the role offers, enjoying the opportunity to meet new people every day while continuing to learn and grow. With no two days the same, Jasmin thrives in a dynamic environment and approaches her work with positivity and adaptability.

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with friends, whether that’s catching up over a coffee or making the most of sunny days with a walk outdoors.

Ollie has joined the team as a property associate in Bury St Edmunds. Ollie is motivated and approachable with a good background in hospitality and sports coaching, where he developed strong communication, organisation and people skills. Ollie is passionate about helping clients achieve their goals and to provide a high level of service.

Outside of work, Ollie is a semi-professional footballer and enjoys keeping fit, playing sport as well as spending time with friends and family.

Matthew has recently joined the company as a property associate in Halstead. Matthew has been in sales for around 7 years and mainly focused on the automotive industry within car sales and car rentals. Matthew has always enjoyed helping customers through the sales process. Matthew is looking forward to starting his new journey with Shires.

Outside of work, Matthew will either be watching football or formula 1, spending time with family or planning his next hiking adventure.

Daisy  joined the team as a Property Associate in Stowmarket. Having previously worked in customer service, Daisy brings a friendly and approachable attitude with lots of enthusiasm to learn. In Daisy’s free time, she enjoys going to music festivals, baking, and long walks around the countryside. Daisy is very excited to begin her journey working in property and she is passionate about building genuine relationships with people.

Jess joined the team as a Finance associate in April 2025. Coming from a previous role as a hotel manager, she brings a keen eye for detail and accounting experience, making her a great fit for the role.

When she’s not at work, Jess is all about video games and is always upgrading her custom built PC. When the weather allows, you will also find her socialising with her boyfriend and friends down the pub with a wine in hand.

Dulcie  joined the company into the Operations Associate role. She brings a strong background in the customer service industry, having previously worked as cabin crew for Ryanair and as a qualified travel agent with TUI. These roles have enabled her to deliver excellent customer experiences in fast-paced environments.

Dulcie is excited to be stepping into operations, embracing a new challenge and continuing to develop her skills in a dynamic area of the business.

Outside of work, Dulcie enjoys dining out and socialising with family and  friends, cuddling with her miniature dachshund Bodhi and travelling frequently throughout the year.

Rory has always had a passion for marketing, having previously worked in digital marketing where he enjoyed bringing brands to life This passion was also developed throughout Rory’s degree, giving him a strong foundation in the creative and strategic side of marketing.

Outside of work, Rory has a passion for fashion, specialising in vintage designer clothing and reselling. Rory loves discovering unique pieces, understanding what makes a brand stand out and connecting with people who share the same interests — something that ties closely into his love for marketing.

Rory is excited to bring his creativity and experience to Shires Estates & Lettings and help build the brand and its presence across the property market.

Miranda has experience in property and customer-focused roles, having previously worked as a Tenancy Administrator, where she supported day-to-day property management, managed tenancy documentation, and maintained clear communication with tenants. Her experience in customer service and office coordination has strengthened her organisational skills and her ability to work effectively with people.

Outside of work, Miranda enjoys reading emotionally driven mystery novels, spending time outdoors, staying active, and spending quality time with friends and family.

Maria brings over 15 years of invaluable experience to her role as a Tenancy Manager. With a keen eye for detail and a dedication to efficiency, she oversees critical aspects of property management, including maintenance, notices, inspections, and compliance certificates.

Maria’s career journey has been diverse, starting out as a paper girl and working at a local haberdashery shop on weekends. She later transitioned into roles at Advanced Air, an Independent Estate agents, and as a receptionist at a dentist’s office.

These experiences have equipped her with a comprehensive skill set and a deep understanding of customer service and administrative tasks.

Outside of the office Marias priority switches to the welfare of her garden which is looked after as efficiently as our letting’s portfolio!

With previous of experience in the industry, Joe has always been passionate about providing top-tier customer service.

Joe hardworking, dedicated, and committed to achieving the best results for everyone involved.

He believes in creating a friendly, approachable atmosphere where he can get things done—and still have a laugh along the way.

When Joe isn’t working, you’ll find him spending quality time with his family or cheering on Manchester United!

Jess has previous experience working with worldwide brands and customers, looking at market trends and movement.

She is always around for support or just a friendly chat. Jess looks forward to finding people’s dream homes and providing great service.

Outside of work Jess enjoys playing netball and seeing family and friends.

Alfie  joined the team as a tenancy manager, in 2026. Alfie has several years of experience in property management and thrives in the industry. Alfie enjoys building strong relationships with clients and tenants, solving problems, and ensuring properties are managed to the highest standard. He takes pride in working in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same and consistently strives to deliver excellent service.

Outside of work, Alfie competes in boxing at a high level and enjoys spending time with his partner and friends.

Tom joined our tenancy management team, from his previous role within the company of Inspections & Inventory Clerk. Within his previous role, Tom Demonstrated a keen eye for detail, and strong organisational skills, which led to him being identified as perfect for making the switch to tenancy management. Tom is now the main point of contact for many of our Landlords for all things to do with their Tenancies and Properties.

Prior to joining the team, Tom gained valuable experience as a retail assistant and Animal Care specialist at Pets at Home. Outside of work, Tom is an avid supporter of Arsenal Football Club, and he enjoys attending matches whenever possible. He also claims to be a distant relative of Frank Lampard, but this has never been substantiated. Tom also enjoys spending time with family and friends, and taking in the countryside walking his dog.
